Small Village Kills Swollen Snake Cause They Thought It Was Eating Their Livestock NOPE Just Filled With Eggs

Daily Mail- Locals who killed a huge snake after suspecting it of having eaten a calf because of its swollen stomach discovered it was pregnant with dozens of eggs. The incident happened in Nigeria where local media said the snake had been killed over accusations it had been feasting on farmers’ livestock. However as these images show, the snake was not overweight because of its last meal, it was actually pregnant. After being cut open, dozens of eggs were found and removed by locals who regard them as a rare delicacy.  Although it was not clear what sort of snake it was, many snakes can produce up to 100 eggs at a time.

Fucking YIKES. Super gross. I think I speak for everyone though when I say that’s a good thing. It’s a good thing that snake was killed and all the eggs weren’t able to hatch and become little baby snakes. Kinda mean? Yeah it is but that’s how it goes. That’s the world we live in. I’d rather a bunch of baby snakes die than have a bunch of baby snakes crawling around all over the place. That’s one of the many benefits of being a human and being at the top of the food chain. When we accidentally kill a snake filled with eggs, there are zero consequences. The people who did it just shrug and say, “Whoops didn’t mean to do that” and we all move on with our lives. There’s no snakes who are gonna press charges or sue the humans for what they did. There will be no snakes riots on the streets. Given how the animal kingdom operates all the other snakes are likely happy this happened. One less competitor out there for food. Still, gross.
