Because Trump Won, Martin Shkreli Streamed Some Of The Wu-Tang Album That He Bought For $2 Million
Pitchfork - Earlier this year, it emerged that Martin Shkreli—the former hedge fund manager, pharmaceutical company CEO, and Collect Records associate who made headlines this year for increasing the price of Daraprim—had bought Wu-Tang Clan’s one-of-a-kind album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for $2 million. He recently promised to release it if Trump became president. This morning, Shkreli has been airing parts of the album following the announcement of Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton. Shkreli admits he didn’t expect Trump to win, saying he would have to negotiate terms of a wider release with Wu-Tang. In the meantime, watch clips below.
So it’s not all doom and gloom, right? Sure our president is a bigot, but at least we get unreleased music from Shkreli’s collection, including the one of a kind Wu-Tang album that he bought for 2 million dollars and has only shared with hot chicks that he wants to fuck. I mean he’s probably just going to be an asshole and not actually share the entire thing like he said he would, but he did play some of it last night, so that’s a start at least.
Will Shkreli go through with his promise to release his private collection of Beatles, Nirvana, and Wu-Tang music? I’m doubting it. What’s the point of owning private music if everyone can hear it? Makes it worthless, and if there’s one thing I know about Shkreli, is he loves money more than you love your dog. Buy hey, maybe he’ll be feeling giddy one day and come through on his promise, we’ll just have to wait and see.
