I Guess You Could Say That Russ Westbrook Is Having A Pretty Good Start To The NBA Season

Yeah, I guess you could say that Westbrook is having a pretty OK start to the season. Last night he dropped 33, 16 and 12. In the season opener against the Sixers, he notched a pedestrian 32, 9 and 12. But over the weekend was the big one. 51 points, 10 assists and 13 rebounds.

First time a player has had a triple double with over 50 points since the 70s.First player in NBA history to have 100 points, 30 rebounds and 30 assists through his first three games. Casual averages of 39, 12 and 12 to start the season. This man is having a disgusting start to the year.

And really, do you think anyone is happier about Golden State’s wobbly start than Westbrook? Especially coupled with the fact that Stephen Adams is about to get $100 mil and Victor Oladipo is about to get $80 mil. Westbrook’s supporting cast is falling into place, and their main directive is probably just to stay the fuck out of the way.

And would ya look at this little early season gem the NBA schedule makers gifted us on Thursday.

If you don’t think that Westbrook is going to try to score 100 points in that game and Dunkaroo dip his nuts in KD’s face, then you just aren’t familiar enough with this psychopath’s body of work. I don’t think he will wind up averaging a triple double this season. But I think he’s going to try. And I’m pretty damned sure that if he played in Oscar Robertson’s time that he would be averaging at least that.
