Jaro Halak's Agent Puts Garth Snow On Blast, Garth Claps Back By Putting Him On The Trading Block

While we were judging who had the best Arthur meme costume and downing oak & cokes [fire subliminal advertising, ndb] Allan Walsh, agent to both Jaro Halak and JF Berube, was busy putting Isles GM Garth Snow all the way on blast with a pair of tweets about Snow’s decision to roll with 3 goalies for the second year in a row.

With news getting out that Halak was aware of his agent’s actions, Garth did what he does best and started making moves.

I feel like people don’t give Garth Snow enough credit for how much of a cut-throat GM he is. Oh, your agent wants to run his mouth? Cool cool, have fun in fucking Minnesota brah. We got Greisser, we got Jean Francois. We’re swimming in goalies.

Many have questioned Snow’s decision to carry a 3rd goaltender in JF Berube dating back to last October. With Halak’s injury history and the fact Berube would have to clear waivers in order to be sent down to the AHL, keeping the 25 year old on the main roster is not only a tactical decision, but it’s a hand that Garth is being forced to play. Despite only having a handful of NHL game under his belt, many believe that if Berube were to hit waivers, chances are he wouldn’t make it out on the other end, and that’s something the Isles GM wants to avoid at all costs.

If Halak does end up being traded, that’s a ton [and a I mean a ton] of faith being put into Greiss from this team’s front office. Greiss obviously showed us that he can hold his own when placed under pressure, but if the safety net that is sharing a tandem role with Halak is taken out of the picture, we’ll finally see just how well he’ll manage as a true starting goalie. Like when Smash Williams graduated only to work at the Alamo Freeze and Saracen had to take over as the guy, it would be make or break time for Goalie1.

And yes, Ilya Sorokin is the JD McCoy of this analogy.
