Props To This Free Hugs Dude Hugging Charlotte Cops & Talking Sense To People

If we’re being honest, 99.99% of the time this “free hugs” idea sucks. It’s awful. The last thing any normal human being wants when walking down the street carrying out their daily life is to get hugged by some kumbaya try-hard stranger. We typically don’t even like being hugged by people we like. Just stay the fuck away from us. Don’t look at us, don’t talk to us, and definitely don’t hug us.

But this is the exception. When that black dude walked straight up and hugged the shit out of that white cop I almost cried. Genuine as fuck hug. Like how your dad hugs you on that rare occasion when he’s proud of you. Like how I imagine two brothers hug when one returns from war. It was awesome.

You know what was even better? When he calmly and very reasonably faced all the emotional protesters calling him a traitor and badge. LOVED that. Massive props to this dude and to all the peaceful folks on both sides giving us all a little hope amidst videos of police shootings, people being beaten in parking garages and reporters dragged towards trashcan fires.
