Jim Harbaugh Clarifies What The Nation Is Thinking About Colin Kaepernick

PFTColin Kaepernick played his best football for Jim Harbaugh, who frequently praised his quarterback’s talent and work ethic when they were together in San Francisco.

But now that Harbaugh is at Michigan, and Kaepernick has made the decision to sit down in protest during the national anthem, Harbaugh has lost respect for the player he once held in such high regard.

“I acknowledge his right to do that, but I don’t respect the motivation or the action,” Harbaugh said today.

Poor Jim Harbaugh. Guy is getting crucified by the media for this. Acknowledging the right, but not respecting the motivation or the action…no wait, supporting the motivation, not the method of the action. Whatever. Did you bring the guy here to coach football games or run the English/Sociology program?

Honestly what the hell is he supposed to do? Pretend he supports Kaepernick 100% and lose the respect of everyone who loves America? Say “fuck Kaepernick” and piss off 90% of recruits, get no talent to come to Michigan, go .500 and get fired? He’s a football coach. Sometimes trying to take the middle ground and pandering is the best business decision. We don’t all have to take strong stands and opinions, leave that to the activists and the bloggers.

PS,

Taking the stand when Michigan tried to ban a viewing of American Sniper was a good one though.
