JPP's Video Of The Giants Dancing In The Locker Room Has Me Convinced They Are Ready To Win The Super Bowl
Well it looks like the Giants are officially back to being contenders again, with “Pull Up On A Kid” as our official jam until further notice. I think if I was able to get down to “We Dem Boyz” during the Mets run to the World Series, I can vibe with some Young Thug. Because that is not the locker room of a team that is going .500 or worse this season. That is the type of swagger reserved for division winners that are ready to do some very big things and win some very big rings. They say you should dress for the job you want, not the job you have. Same deal with locker room behavior. In the words of a wise man, believe it and it will happen.
My only gripe is that there wasn’t a camera exclusively on Odell Beckham. Anytime a dance party breaks out, there needs to be an ODB Cam to see if he pulls out some ridiculous moves that we have never seen before or will again. Actually I guess my other gripe is that Ben McAdoo didn’t join in. That should be the team’s goal this season. If the Giants clinch the NFC East, we should get to see Benny Mac’s computer glitch of a haircut bounce in a group of gladiators as Young Thug plays in the locker room. That’s how you motivate millionaire athletes.
And lest I forget to include Justin Pugh dropping one of the best #SaturdaysAreForTheBoys videos ever this weekend.
This team just has “it”. Sure they need to practice all the on-field stuff needed to win a Super Bowl while also praying that the new training staff has exorcised all the demons of the previous regime so the Giants aren’t the most injured team in the NFL yet again. But we are clearly on the right path, even if Odell Beckham seems to have changed after what must have been a rough summer.
But at least the French Connection is already raising havoc.
And I am refusing to read anything about Victor Cruz’s groin because for some reason I decided to fall for the “he’s coming back” rhetoric after seeing him running a few weeks ago. Victor Cruz and David Wright are doing a number on the hearts of Giants + Mets fan gypsies.
P.S. I wasn’t going to post this because the lack of General Coughlin still hurt. But any blog about a Giants locker room celebration needs to include the one after they beat the Pats on the road in 2011. After seeing that celebration, I knew the team had the ability to win and celebrate a Super Bowl championship.
