The Simpsons Are Making a 1 Hour, Great Gatsby Themed Hip-Hop Episode
Source - Next year The Simpsons will be returning for their 28th season, and to celebrate the occasion, the animated comedy is scheduled to air its first-ever hour-long episode. The episode will not only be longer than normal, but it will also be hip-hop-themed.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the hour-long installment is loosely based around F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, as it is aptly titled “The Great Phatsby.”

First of all, 28 seasons is just ridiculous. The longevity of this show is truly amazing, even if it’s “not what it used to be”. I mean I don’t watch the show anymore, nor does really anyone I know, but there are people out there who are still big fans, and apparently it’s actually been good and fresh the last few seasons.
That being said, an hour long Great Gatsby themed hip-hop episode is an awesome idea. For starters, making everything into hip hop is the new hotness thanks to Hamilton. This is the perfect show to do something like this, as everyone is familiar with all the characters in Great Gatsby and the Simpsons. I like when shows think outside the box and do something different, like with Family Guy did the Star Wars trilogy. This episode will definitely be worth DVR’ing.
