You guys remember that KHL preseason game from a couple days ago that had to get cancelled just 3 minutes in after one dude went on an absolute rampage through the entire Chinese club Kunlun Red Star? Let me jog your memory real quick just in case you forgot. Because Barys’ Damir Ryspayev didn’t just take down on Red Star player…
He didn’t just take down 2 Red Star players…
He didn’t just take down 3 Red Star players…
He didn’t just take down 4 Red Star players…
But he even went after the rest of the bench after that…
4 take downs and it wasn’t until Damir Ryspayev decided to take on the entire team at once that HC Kunlun Red Star was able to sack up and fight back. Population control and smog aren’t the two biggest issues facing China. It’s hockey players who are softer than Charmin. Anyways, after getting emasculated in front of the entire world (even those bozos at SportsNation decided to pick this story up), Red Star Kunlun continued to dig their hole even deeper by lawyering up.
Snitches get stitches, Red Star. I still, for the life of me, can’t understand how Ryspayev is the only one catching heat for this incident. As if all the blame shouldn’t be immediately placed on Red Star for allowing it to happen. I know that we don’t like to victim blame here on Barstool Sports [dot] com. But allowing one guy to take down 4 of your players before anybody actually steps up is essentially the same thing as wearing size 6 skinny jeans. You’re asking for it at that point. If I’m the cops, this case seems pretty cut and dry to me. The only crime committed was the crime of being a bitch. And the entire Red Star roster is guilty to the highest degree.
The only issue is what cops these clowns go to. Do they go to Chinese cops because they’re a Chinese team? Do they go to Russian cops because they play in a Russian league? Do they go to a neutral arbitrator like North Korea? If this was America where democracy and justice reign supreme, Ryspayev would be a clean man 10 times out of 10. I can’t say the same for any of these other ass-backwards nations.
For what it’s worth, Red Star Kunlun’s jerseys are pretty fuego. The great wall on the bottom is a great little touch. Can’t wait until USA gets to steal that idea once Trump builds the wall.
