Rick Rubin Is And Forever Will Be My Hero

Kevin already blogged all the big points from the main story of the day, and probably of the month, but I just needed to give a quick shoutout to Rick Rubin. What an amazing man. I don’t even know if Taylor Swift and Kanye West would be “arguably” the two most iconic artists of our generation, I think they just are. I don’t think it’s an argument. But Rick doesn’t give a fuckkkkkkk. Any other person on planet earth and a Taylor/Kanye conversation is the most important thing happening in that are code at the moment, to Rick Rubin it’s nothing but an annoyance. “Why the fuck are you talking on speaker phone? Shut that off, I’m trying to play Angry Birds,” is what Rick Rubin is probably thinking there. Honestly such a pleasure to watch. It’s like seeing a true professional of the “I don’t give a goddamn shit” game. It’s exactly what I aspire to be. If someone says “John’s mood could always be best described as ‘Rick Rubin on the couch while Kanye and Taylor talk'” then I will say I lived a successful life.
