Ted Leonsis Wrote a Bizarre Blog Post Where He Claimed The Wizards Had a Great Offseason

Full Thing Here - The Washington Wizards have had a busy and successful off-season. It started in late April when we hired Scott Brooks, who had the best winning percentage of any coach available and who has a well-respected history of player development. It has continued into early July with NBA free agency.

What in the FUCK are you talking about, Ted Leonsis? Jesus fucking Christ. If the Wizards had a successful offseason, I had a successful Summer with the babes. Leonsis wrote 10,000 words of pure nonsense, which is ironic because if you have the brain capacity to actually read it, you also have the brain capacity to sniff out the bullshit too.

How did the Wizards offseason really go? Well first, they didn’t fire Ernie Grunfeld who is the worst GM in the NBA, no ifs or buts about it. They then gave Scott Brooks, a below average coach, a 5 year, 35 million dollar contract. They then failed to secure even a meeting, a MEETING, with Kevin Durant, who has been their prime focus as an organization for the last 3 years. And they couldn’t even get him to give them as much as a courtesy wave. Al Horford considered the Wizards, but went to the Celtics instead. Nicolas Batum entertained them with a phone call while meeting with the Hornets and Mavs in person. Nicolas Fucking Batum wouldn’t take a free flight to meet with the Wizards.

So who did the Wizards land? Besides keeping Bradley Beal and signing him to a max deal (which I agree with), the Wizards signed…Ian Mahinmi, Andrew Nicholson, and Jason Smith. Mahinmi is the only above average signing, as he’s an upgrade at center over the bums they rolled out last season. Nicholson was fun to watch at St. Bonny, but did nothing of note with the Magic. And Jason Smith makes no sense whatsoever.

When you are the owner of one of the most underachieving franchises in NBA history, using your entire cap on Ian Mahinmi, Andrew Nicholson, and Jason Smith is not a successful offseason. The biggest offseason move was trading a future 2nd round pick for Trey Burke to back up John Wall.

The pieces they added were decent for depth. This is true. If you are rounding out a team, adding Mahinmi and Nicholson is pretty solid. But they should not be your big signings. The Wizards had the money to give someone besides Beal a max deal and they couldn’t find anyone to take the cash. And Ted Leonsis is saying this was successful? I think the fans/everyone with a brain disagrees.
