Japan's First Virtual Reality Porn Festival Had To Be Cancelled Because Too Many People Showed Up

UVR- Back in May we reported that Japan’s new adult VR festival would be taking place in mid-June. Sadly, the event’s first time proved to be a bit of an awkward mess. Adult VR Fest 01 was the festival’s name, and it was set in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, known for its collection of arcades and stores. The event attracted scores of people wanting to get inside and play with the latest pornography experiences inside headsets like the Oculus Rift. Unfortunately, the festival attracted so much attention that the street outside the venue began to draw a sizeable crowd that, according to one blogger (and translated via The Next Web), police eventually had to break it up. A few did manage to get into the event, however, and the inside looked every bit as bizarre, intriguing, and often downright terrifying as we had imagined.

OF COURSE IT DID. Of course the virtual reality porn festival in Japan sold out like Jay Z playing at Madison Square Garden. The only people surprised by this news is apparently are the people who planned the festival. Everybody else in the world knew that a virtual reality porn festival was going to go over like gangbusters in Japan. Few things go together better than Japan and porn. Especially virtual reality porn. They’re like peanut butter and jelly. They’re like ham and cheese. They’re like cocaine and waffles. A perfect match. How do the people who planned this VR porn festival not rent out the venue with the biggest capacity possible? Honestly, there might not be a venue big enough for the type of demand a festival like this brings about in Japan. Their only option might’ve been to rent out a thousand acres of land, haul a bunch of generators out there and do the festival that way. Stay fucking weird Japan. Literally.

PS- I’m honestly worried about getting my hands on VR porn. I have an addictive brain. I’m addicted to food. I’m addicted to alcohol. I’m addicted to porn. Now think about VR porn and how addicted to that I’ll become. It’s troubling but also inevitable. Sad!
