The Challenge Went Back To Its Roots Last Night And May Be On The Road To Recovery

I admit that last week was rough. Watching the Mets lose two shitty games to the White Sox followed by another Are You The One team being used as a replacement squad had me real salty when I wrote my Challenge recap blog. But last night The Challenge reached deep down and gave us a vintage episode by sticking to its bread and butter. Because last night had everything we wanted in an episode of The Challenge. We had people hooking up

A fun challenge with people doing either gross stuff or getting naked (or in last night’s case, both)

People fighting (okay it was a pseudo man hug with the worst trash talking afterwards by #VinceFail. Baby steps, people).

And even a brief appearance from The Camilinator. But unfortunately, yet another episode without an elimination round. But that’s fine because TJ wore a Muhammad Ali shirt on the first Challenge since Ali’s death.

That is either one of the biggest coincidences ever or TJ Lavin is a soothsayer or a time traveler. Those are the only three options.

Speaking of options, I just want to know which they would eat in the brains vs. balls challenge, because that is right out of a KFC Radio hypothetical.

And while the episode was good, I have decided to #staywoke and not think we are out of the woods yet. I still think we need some fresh blood or ideas on the show. Luckily we had this brilliant idea dropped on our Twitter earlier in the week that MTV could follow as a blueprint for fixing The Challenge in the long term.

Though CT may not have the fire in him to come back and dominate the show like in the past. Maybe seeing Chad on The Bachelor re-lit the fire in his belly though.

Hopefully MTV keeps this momentum going. If you want to hear more about the episode, here is last night’s No Quitters podcast. We obviously discussed a good amount about if The Challenge is “back”, #VinceFail, eating balls vs. eating brains, Camila’s craziness, and more about Nicole’s butthole than any of our family’s would be proud of.
