Iowa Cubs Pitcher Gets Released Then Goes Out That Night And Gets Arrested For Pissing On A Car

DMR- A World Series-winning relief pitcher who had been on the Iowa Cubs roster was arrested Thursday morning. Right-hander Jean Machi was arrested for public intoxication and urinating in public in the 200 block of Third Street in Des Moines. Machi, 34, was booked in the Polk County Jail at 2:01 a.m. According to a police report obtained by the Register, Machi was spotted urinating on the bumper of a car owned by an employee of the Stuffed Olive. The employee asked Machi to stop urinating on his car but he continued. Machi asked the employee if he wanted to fight over it, the report said. The report says that Machi, who is living in Saylor Township, denied urinating on the car to police. The right-hander had a 3.68 ERA and 2-1 mark in 29.1 innings of work with Iowa this season. An Iowa Cubs spokesperson said Machi was released prior to his arrest. He last appeared in a game for the I-Cubs on Tuesday.

Let the man live! Outside of charges such as murder, sexual assault, or anything where you harm another person, you should be able to do whatever you want the night after you get fired. A free night to unwind. Your own personal Purge day, if you will. It should just be a law. Again, you can’t murder anybody or sexually assault someone or even punch another person. But you should be able to get drunk and piss on a car the night after getting canned without having to worry about getting arrested. That’s the world I wanna live in. A world where when a guy starts pissing on a car and his friend says to onlookers, “He just got fired today” everybody nods in agreement and allows the man to keep urinating. Cause now this guy is even further down in the dumps since he got fired AND got arrested. That might push him to do something even more drastic. And that’ll be on all of us for not letting a man piss on a car and decompress properly.
