Yankees Get Back To .500 And Are Officially Back

6 wins in a row, 13 of the last 18, a rotation that’s cruising, bats that are alive, a DOMINATING bullpen, what else could you want? Yeah we’re still not in a playoff spot yet and have a long way to go but getting back to .500 is a huge step on the way to where we should be. We sit now at 2.5 games out of the Wild Card and 5 out of the division which seemed impossible just a few weeks ago but can be only a few games back by memorial day if we keep beating up on the struggling Blue Jays and keep it rolling against equally lost Tampa.

A lot of people thought we were dead in the water during April but I kept saying that we would turn it around. not only have we turned it around, but we’ve done it without A-Rod and basically without Tex. While this could mean that eventually we’ll get even better, this could become an issue fast. With A-Rod being limited to DH Beltran will have to go back to the field and possibly throw off his rhythm to make room in the lineup. Even with A-Rod going 2-4 tonight with an RBI, the plan is to keep him down in Trenton for more rehab but if the Yankees keep winning, it might be smart to let A-Rod rehab until a loss.

Even though we have those possible decisions coming up, it’s great to be back at .500 and to be able to enjoy the game. I think as a fan base it was important for us to go through times of crisis so that we can do a better job of appreciating the highs. When you’re used to just winning and winning and winning its easy to forget how good things have been. We’ll do a one time amnesty for people who wanted to jump overboard early in the season but this is the only time because we’re back and it’s only good times from here.
