Dioner Navarro Does Not Back Down From Home Plate Collisions

PHILADELPHIA — Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro was taken off the field on a cart after a collision at home plate with the Phillies’ Chase Utley in the seventh inning on Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park.

After being removed from the field to a standing ovation, Navarro was taken to a local hospital for x-rays on his right ankle, which came back negative. Navarro was diagnosed with a leg contusion.

Well Dioner Navarro wins toughest guy of the night award. Thankfully his leg isn’t broken because the Cubs just won their 50th game of the season, definition of an nbd but kbd situation.
