When The Freestyle Battle Between Two Roommates Gets Too Real, The Knives Come Out

PressCitizen- A Coralville man is facing a second robbery charge after being arrested last weekend. Iowa City police say Alexander Regennitter, 18, of the 700 block of 19th Avenue in Coralville, was with another man at an apartment in the 500 block of East Burlington Street in Iowa City on March 25 and the two were freestyle rapping together. According to police “the victim said for no reason the defendant started punching him multiple times in the head.” Police said Regennitter then tried to reach inside the other man’s pocket to get his wallet and bit his arm when a struggle ensued. Regennitter then pulled a knife from his pocket, opened the blade and threatened the other man, according to police complaints. The man left the apartment to get away from Regennitter, police said, and later discovered Regennitter had stolen $100 from him.

What happened to journalism in this country? A story like this can’t be posted without letting us know what lyric/burn/diss made the situation escalate to the point where the knives came out. Did he insult the other guy’s mother? His girlfriend? His GASP grandma? We need to know. Video would be even better. I know the article says the other guy attacked “for no reason” but that’s obviously bull shit. As a guy who has watched 8 mile a total of 23,0000 times, freestyle battles can get ugly. Nothing is safe in the underground. There ain’t no such thing as halfway crooks. Yeah, Wink fucked B-Rabbit’s girl, but he still stood up there and screamed fuck the Free World. It had to be over a girl. It always is. Either that, or one of the guys brought up a roommate problem that has been festering for a long time. Like toe nail clippings on the floor. Or pubic hair on the toilet seat. I could see knives coming out over something like that too.
