Mark Sanchez Has Been Dumped To The Broncos
PFT – According to Mike Klis of KUSA in Denver, the Broncos have sent a conditional draft pick to the Eagles for spare quarterback Mark Sanchez. That gives them someone other than Trevor Siemian on the depth chart, but hardly seems like an answer after Peyton Manning retired and Brock Osweiler bolted for Houston. And Sanchez was no longer needed in Philadelphia, such that he ever was, once Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel were signed. Sanchez is signed at a reasonable backup rate ($4.5 million), and it seems reasonable to think the Broncos are still looking for a starter.
The artist formerly known as Sanchize will be in Denver and, I’m not gonna lie, I think he’ll be just fine. He won’t be the starter and I still believe he’s a capable backup when put in a situation where he’s not asked to do a lot. And when you upgrade from Miles Austin and Riley Cooper to Emmanuel Sanders and Thoroughbred Thomas, good things tend to happen. Plus that world class defense will help, too. I’m upset it isn’t the Jets just to see KFC’s head explode at the speed of light, but can’t win ‘em all. Till we meet again, Mark. We’ll always have the memories of how you almost led this team to the playoffs in ’14 before you were what we thought you were. Great Thanksgiving Day guy, though.
