Kmarko's DraftKings Picks - January 26th
Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
Another night smashing 300, feels good.
I said it multiple times in the blog – DeMarcus Cousins was the top play of the night. Felt corny as hell to make him a featured pick when we’re supposed to be looking for tourney plays, but hope everyone had some good exposure to him. My blog picks weren’t too shabby either: 67 from Harden and 50 from Kemba. Ok David West didn’t give us enough as a value play, but at least he didn’t bomb.
Ton of games tonight, and to be honest I really hate the slate. Had a lot of trouble filling out my lineups – too many value plays at certain positions, not enough at others. Good luck figuring out your own.
SF Kevin Durant $9.8K
Once again…you fade Boogie at your own risk. He’s still at 11K, and he’s still the best bet to drop the biggest line of the night. It’s going to be really hard for me to not include him in my tournament lineups, but I spend up elsewhere, it’s gonna be on KD. CP3, Lillard and Wall are all elite high priced options as usual, but I got a gut feeling Durant goes off at MSG tonight, where it seems like all the star players bring out their best games no matter how shitty the Knicks are. Maybe he’ll be motivated to show the “Unicorn” Porzingis how good he is? I don’t know, all I know is I love him for under 10K here.
PG Rajon Rondo $8.4K
While Wall and Lillard have been hit or miss lately (and for more money), Rondo is quietly on a nice comfortable 40-50 point game streak. Hey somebody’s gotta feed Boogie the assists for his 56 point games. With Gay out again he’s got a little more offensive responsibility, and we all know he’s a threat for that triple double bonus every time he steps out on the floor. I definitely don’t hate the idea of pairing up Rondo and Cousins again and filling a bunch of value plays around them.
VALUE PLAY SG Archie Goodwin $4.6K
This is a gimme. With Brandon Knight out for the next week or two, I’ll continue to fire up Archie Goodwin at a bargain basement price. He’ll be highly owned but he’s just too good of a play to get too cute with. Devin Booker has been less consistent but also has the nice upside for pretty cheap, and while we’re on the Suns, PJ Tucker, Tyson Chandler and Alex Len are all great value plays. For a horrible team, the Suns sure have a lot of fantasy goodness.
Other guys to consider…
So many centers tonight, so few slots: Chandler, Mejri, Len, Cauley Stein and Myles Turner are all fantastic value plays (Turner I basically lock in as soon as Mahinmi is confirmed out). I can’t see spending above any of those guys, but Greg Monroe could be a nice little contrarian play too.
DeRozan and Middleton are my top 2’s tonight – I’ll have Goodwin locked in but I wouldn’t forget about mixing those two into your guard slots. At SF, if you don’t want to pay for Durant, you got Parsons and Covington are A+ options in the 6K range, and Aaron Gordon is on the rise (hopefully) getting more minutes.
PF is hottttt garbage. Outside of Boogie I don’t like a single play. Maybe Dirk against the Lakers if he’s healthy and maybe Bosh.
…
That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.
