KFC Radio Episode 151: What Do Rams Fans Do Now?

Poor Rams fans. Whats happened to them just aint fair. Its always about dollars and cents to the players, owners and management and its the fans that end up getting screwed over because of it. But at the same time, this is a rare opportunity for Rams fans. I know there are certainly times where I wish I had an “out” on my teams. No self respecting man can bail on his team and simply pick up another one. But when your team bails on you, well then you’re 100% free to play the field. You’re the one who’s been dumped and you can go rebound however you’d like.

So the question is what do you do? You can stick with the Rams and just root for an LA based franchise. Thats probably the easiest way. Not being able to go to games sucks but thats a rarity anyway. You’re mostly watching from your couch so whats the difference? You can pick a new team but that gets dicey – you cant be a front runner and pick a winning team because then you’re an asshole. But if you do the right thing and try to pick a decent franchise and they start sucking, theres no way you’lll actually stick around and endure it. Its one thing to ride a winning bandwagon, but its totally different to ride a losing bandwagon. You’ll stop caring instantly. So unless you pick the perfect middle of the road franchise that pans out, you just cant fake this.

Bottom line, actually – you cant really fake it. You can fake it to an extent but you cannot recapture the same passion you had for your original team. Which is why I say you go rogue. Mercenary style. Youre not a fan of anyone. Just a fan of football. A fan of the NFL. A fan of Sundays at the bar eating wings and drinking beer. A fan of Red Zone and highlights and the best players in the world. A fan of gambling and fantasy the culture surrounding football without being weighed down by any one team. Being married sucks. Being single is awesome. Go be a “single guy” in the NFL. Beautiful life.
