Steven Avery From 'Making A Murderer' Thinks He Knows Who Actually Killed Teresa Halbach
TMZ – Steven Avery claims his own two brothers may have killed Teresa Halbach — especially one who he says had a history of harassing women at the exact location where Teresa was last seen.
Avery filed legal docs — obtained by TMZ — in which he claims brothers Earl and Charles may have done the deed for which he’s serving a life sentence. He says both have a history of sexually assaulting women. Earl once pled no contest to sexually assaulting his 2 daughters.
According to the docs, which Steven filed in 2009 after his conviction, brother Charles’ criminal conduct and actions are even more problematic. He was charged with sexually assaulting his wife by holding her down and trying to strangle her with a phone cord before having intercourse with her.
The docs say Charles also had a history of aggression toward women who visited the family’s junkyard. One woman, who was there to retrieve her car that had been towed, complained to cops she was afraid of Charles because he was aggressively pursuing her … sending flowers and money to her home, calling her incessantly and showing up at her doorstep.
First: If you haven’t yet, watch Netflix’s Making A Murderer so we can talk like adults. Second: Read Feits’ blog about some of the more interesting notes from the show. Okay now we can continue.
There are more details on TMZ about Steven Avery’s brother Charles apparently harassing a bunch of women in the month before Teresa Halbach was killed and these findings completely blew my mind. I didn’t get all in on the Reddit conspiracy theories around Making A Murderer so maybe this has been floating around since the show hit but did anyone even fucking mention that Steven Avery had weirdo brothers around once to police, let alone in that documentary? We get poor Brendan Dassey with his weaponized CD player coerced into a confession by police until he can’t finish his 6th period project or watch WrestleMania and we couldn’t get the cops tuning up ol’ rapey Charles and Earl to get a confession out of them instead? So not only were the cops here corrupt and borderline evil, this is yet another way in which they were extremely lazy. Can’t be both, guys. Can’t be both.
I have to say though that Charles sounds like a weirdo and probably a murder but you can’t fault him that aggressive wooing of sending flowers and money to a chick’s home. Nothing says “I’m more than my possibly incestuous family’s scrap metal business” than sending a chick some wilted daisies and an envelope with sweaty $1 bills.
Also this thing I tweeted a week ago when this meme was hot and fresh on the streets pops into my mind now and every time I read anything about Steven Avery:
Two fucking minutes of renting a UHaul and we all could still be generally believing in the justice system. Very selfish, Steve.
