Iowa Basketball Knocks Off #1 Ranked Michigan State At Carver

YEAHHHHHHH BUDDY! STORM THAT COURT! Don’t let the wet blankets of the world say you shouldn’t storm the court after your team beats the #1 team in the country.  And no, it doesn’t bother me one bit that Michigan State didn’t have Denzel Valentine.  Just wanted the win over MSU after the B1G Championship a few weeks back. Now it obviously doesn’t wipe away that loss completely but it makes me feel good to give the MSU basketball team their first loss of the season.  It was Iowa’s first win against a #1 opponent since 1999. Despite MSU not having their best player that’s a big win for Fran and the boys as they kickoff conference play.  And if nothing else, it gives the football team good vibes as they’re about the play in the Rose Bowl on Friday. Mike Gesell dropped a career-high 25 points. Peter Jok poured in 19 points. But the real spark came from off the bench in the form of Dom Uhl (7 points) and Nicholas Baer (11 points). Baer was all over the goddamn place. I like that kid a lot. All in all a pretty damn good win for Iowa. Shout out to the Carver crowd for being electric tonight despite the combination of people heading outta town for the Rose Bowl and the weather being shitty and fucking up the roads the last couple of days. Go Hawks.

That game might not have made up for the B1G Championship but I sincerely hope this small child is somewhere crying
