Road To The Winter Classic Episode Two Is On Tonight... Here's What You Missed Last Week

Tonight we get episode two of The Road to the Winter Classic, on Epix at 10 o’clock. If you don’t get Epix you can just go to Epix.com and it will automatically be streaming at 10. You don’t need to click anything, just go to the site and it will be playing on the homepage. These shows are always my sneaky favorite part of big games/fights/whatever because we get that unprecedented look behind the curtain, the kind of access that you’d really never dream of. Thus far, it has not disappointed. Awesome footage from the best rivalry in sports. Here’s a quick look at some of the stuff you missed last week…

– I hate how much I like PK Subban. This is why I get scared to watch these shows and never even watched the Jets Hardknocks. I don’t want to like any of my rivals. However, it’s unavoidable with PK. Every interview, every moment on screen, every clip on the ice… he’s electric. I mean look at this jacket

That’s big-time St. Catherine PK. I can’t get enough of the guy.

– Michel Therrien is a perfect villain. Whereas Rex was difficult to hate for the Jets, Michel is so incredible easy. He looks like a villain and he sounds like a villain.

– Pacioretty is a snoooooooooze. I can’t imagine going through life that boring. Classic guy who’s from Connecticut but says he’s from New York.

– Canadiens have an ugly, ugly squad. Pimples all over the place. Everyone loves bragging about their free healthcare north of the border but not sure there’s a bottle of Proactiv in the whole country.

– Stephanie Bergeron is as perfect as Patrice.

– I loved Chara walking around the North End insisting that he’s just a normal guy. He said it like a million times, as if he was trying to convince himself. Listen, Z, I love ya but you’re 6’9″ and groups of people are chasing you around, begging you for a picture. I don’t care if you eat Italian subs, you ain’t normal.

– Nice locker room ball busting as Talbot insists Vatrano “tells the truth” about what actually happened to his gross lip.

– I cracked up at Marchand’s face when Milt Schmidt came into the room. You could’ve told Brad that Milt invented hockey and he would’ve believed you.

– Marchand also said he worked on this move all summer. I believe him.

– Glad that The Pigeon Lady from Home Alone has found work as the Canadiens organist. Was worried she’d been type cast.

– Maybe my favorite part of the episode was Claude’s locker room speeches. Lot of chatter this offseason about what should be done with Claude and I think these clips (along with the Bruins play this season) confirmed the organization’s move to keep him. He was smart and passionate, and the team was responding. Especially love him calling out Krejci and Erickson.
