Monday, December 14, 2015 ---- The Redskins Are In First Place in the NFC East

Good morning, world. How are you this morning? It’s another unseasonably warm December day, with the temperature getting up into the upper 60’s. Christmas is only 11 days away (I hope Santa bring me some health insurance!) and the Redskins are in first place in the NFC East…Wait what?!?! Yes, health ins….no the other part…yes, the Redskins are in first place in the NFC East right in the middle of December. This team won 3 games two seasons ago, and 4 games last season. Now they sit at 6-7 with 3 games remaining, fighting for their playoff lives. What a wild, wacky world. They are DeSean not running a punt the opposite way away from having a stronghold on the division. But yet in true Redskins fashion, nothing can come easy.

If the Giants win tonight that will once again put 3 teams tied for the best record in the NFC East. Rooting hardddddd for Miami tonight. But let’s say the Gmen take care of business, here’s the remaining schedules for everyone. (Note: the Cowboys are nowhere to be found.)

First, the red hot Eagles. This fucking team, man. They lost 3 straight to the Dolphins, Bucs, and Lions. And then they beat the Pats in Foxborough and yesterday beat the Bills. But their remaining schedule is none too easy.

Cardinals in primetime, then the Skins, and then on the road at the Giants. The Cards should be able to pick the Eagles apart, the Skins have already beaten the Eagles this year, and then they go on the road to the swamps of New Jersey to close the year. I can find reasons the Eagles lose all 3, but the way they have been playing up and down, it’s hard to predict anything.

I’m counting on Miami taking care of the Giants tonight, but let’s say the Giants do win and move to 6-7.

Will the Gmen then be able to beat the undefeated Panthers on a short week? Will they be able to go on the road and beat the Vikings? I say no to both of those questions. And then boom, Coughlin is coaching his last game vs the Giants, so the players don’t quit on him. Giants beat the Eagles on January 3rd for ol’ red cheeks. Perfect.

Which leaves us with the Skins:

Bills at home next week. If the Eagles can take care of the Bills, the Skins can take care of the Bills. Kirk plays fantastic at home, and this team is spewing confidence right now. Then at the Eagles in prime time. Will this game be a cakewalk? Absolutely not. But I do not believe in Sam Bradford lighting the world on fire. I do believe in more Chip dramatics. Kirk got the “winning on the road” monkey off his back yesterday, so he’s more comfortable and it’ll be time to make a statement in primetime. And then the final game of the year in Dallas, that’s a gimme. The Cowboys have quit, they hate their coach, their QB stinks, and we aren’t getting swept by the Cowboys.

So there is your very one-sided playoff picture. It is going to be a stressful as fuck final 3 weeks. But if you told me at the start of the year that the Skins would be in this position in mid-December I would have slapped you and your momma. And your auntie too.
