Giving A Man A Ticket For Texting In The Drive Thru Is The Most Hardo Cop Move Of All Time
Fox 2 - A.J. Daoust usually knows what to expect in this Beaumont Tim Hortons drive through, place an order, pay and pick up. Earlier this week, something he did not see coming. “I was just sitting there and i got a text, I replied to it….” After texting, Daoust says a police officer knocked on his window, asked him to pull over and gave him a $287 ticket for distracted driving. “I just asked him like, in a drive-thru, really?” The legislation prohibits the use of a phone on ‘any’ thoroughfare, public or private that the public is ordinarily entitled to use for the passage of vehicles. “To me, this is ridiculous. It’s just kind of heavy-handed.”
There are few things pure in this world anymore, and the drive thru is one of the few. It’s a place of happiness in world of sadness, a place of camaraderie in a lonely world. It’s a trust tree, a judge-free zone, a place where you can order double the amount of food you need and the kind lady or sir will hand you your bag(s) with a smile. You can then pull into the parking lot and eat as much as you want in your car by yourself, and be at peace. There is no room for hardo cops in the drive thru community. There is no room for a texting while driving ticket when all you want is some greasy food, and more greasy food. The fact this guy received a text while in the drive thru should be celebrated, not ticketed. The cop should have high-fived the guy, like good on you pal, look at you still having contact with the outside world. Where is the outrage against this cop? Fat lives matter too ya know. $287 for texting in the drive thru, shame on him. Shame, shame, shame. And in Canada! CANADA! I thought they were supposed to be the friendliest lil beady eyed folks on Earth. What’s happening up in our hat? Shame.
