Cubs Sign Ben Zobrist, 56 Million Over 4 Years, Starlin Headed To Yankees, Deal Close To Being Finalized

Well looks like the dominoes are now falling. Literally was typing out my Zobrist blog when the Starlin news hit. Starlin deserves his own blog tomorrow which I intend on doing, his trade hurts emotionally because we’ve been through so much with him, but in terms of knee jerk reactions I’m weirdly undecided. It all depends on the package back from the Yankees because I’d rather have Starlin starting at second than 34 year old Zobrist. Zobrist will be more reliable but Starlin clearly has more upside. And then you factor in Baez, is he staying? If so you’d have to think Zobrist won’t be every day. Crazy times in Nashville. Theo firing off, I’m sure he robbed the Yankees, just need to wait and digest what exactly the loot looks like before you can actually decide where the Cubs land. End of the day though, you have to trust Theo, at least I do.

Seriously, I know he’s hated by a lot of people but Starlin was our only guy through some really really tough years. This is going to get emotional.
