RIP Scott Weiland
I know Nate already blogged this, but I had to chime in here. Because my favorite concert I’ve ever been to in my life was STP at the Orpheum back around 2000. Just an absolutely electric show. Scott Weiland was everything you’d want from a rock star. He was totally high on something, but not high enough where he was out of it. He was awesome. No other way to put it. You couldn’t take your eyes off him. You know how some concerts sort of drag on? Well this one felt like it was over in a blink because every song was louder and better than the next. The crowd going bananas singing along. It was all because of Weiland. Not only an unreal singer, but unreal performer. The perfect front man. That’s why whenever I think of rock stars I think of that show and Scott Weiland, That will always be it for me. Every playlist I make has anywhere between 1-5 STP songs on it. Now I’m not saying you need demons to be a truly great rock legend, but I feel like most of them do. And to be able to put a show like I saw that night you have to be different. No normal person could have done what he did that night. He was on a different level. The way he moved, sang, danced etc. It was like he was possessed but in a perfect way for a rock star. True legend of the game. RIP Scott Weiland for giving me a night I’ll never forget.
