This Story of Bill Walton Trying To Make Danny Ainge A Deadhead Is Laugh Out Loud Funny

CBS – When Ainge joined Toucher & Rich Thursday morning, Fred Toucher couldn’t resist asking about Walton and his love for the Grateful Dead. “When Bill first got here he gave me a disc of some sort to listen to the Grateful Dead, so I told him I’d try. I came back the next day and told him I wasn’t feeling it, but asked for his favorite song. He tears the thing out of my hand and says, ‘When you’re a Dead fan, it’s all one song.’”

Listen everybody knows I love Bill Walton. There is nothing I love doing than tuning into a meaningless early February Pac 10 hoop game to listen to Walton go on a 10 minute rant about Jerry Garcia, the Universe and Larry Bird and not even acknowledge the game he is announcing for the entire quarter.

Well this story from Danny Ainge is vintage Walton. Just trying to force feed the Grateful Dead down Danny Ainge’s throat and then ripping away the CD when he didn’t appreciate it. I mean you literally can’t say anything more Grateful Deadish than what Walton said to Ainge. “When you’re a dead fan, it’s all one song.” So true. Deadheads don’t change how they dance or anything. It’s just one constant stream. And yes I do like the Grateful Dead. Scarlet Begonias? If you don’t like this shit you just don’t like music.
