University Of Iowa Suspends Sorority For That Video About Boozing And Butt Sex

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) —Officials at the University of Iowa say a sorority has been temporarily suspended after an online video showed members performing a song that references binge drinking. The university says the Delta Epsilon chapter of the Alpha Phi sorority received a notice Friday informing the group of an interim suspension. The chapter will not be able to hold organized events until a judicial board reviews the case. A video posted on YouTube this month shows sorority members singing and dancing on the steps of its house on campus. Part of the song includes references to excessive drinking. University spokeswoman Jeneane Beck says the video does not represent the school’s fraternity and sorority community. Alpha Phi chapter president Anna Kozak tells the Iowa City Press-Citizen that the sorority is not commenting.

BOOOOOOO

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Turns out sororities do get in trouble for shit like this.  I said in my original blog about the video that I don’t know anything about frats and sororities or what gets them in trouble and that stands true.  Greek life is something I’m not well versed in.  I don’t understand this at all though.  People know what goes on in college, right?  Binge drinking. Sex.  Maybe some butt stuff here and there.  The widespread outrage for this video makes it seem like people didn’t know college kids got drunk and had sex.  That’s all they’re talking about in the video.  I guess I get that the University of Iowa has to be like, “Oh we don’t approve of that at all!  Suspended!” because they’re school officials at the end of the day. All the other outrage is laughable.  If you didn’t drink and have sex in college then feel free to be angry.  I stand with Alpha Phi and those fire lyrics.
