Ex-Facebook COO Allegedly Bought $13,000 Worth Of Lingerie For Her And Her Assistant During A Trip To Europe And I Have So Many Questions
NY Post- Former Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg spent $13,000 on lingerie for herself and a young female assistant during a trip to Europe — and exhorted her to “come to bed” during a private jet flight on the way home, according to an explosive new memoir.
The bombshell claims were made in a book published by Sarah Wynn-Williams, a former Facebook employee who wrote about the six years she spent at the tech giant in “Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism.”
During a long drive through Europe, Sandberg and her 26-year-old assistant took turns sleeping in each other’s laps and stroking each other’s hair, Wynn-Williams alleged in the explosive tell-all.
During the trip, Sandberg instructed Wynn-Williams to purchase lingerie for both of them, regardless of cost — the final bill reaching $13,000, according to a book review published on Monday by the New York Times.
I have written on here before about the cost of underwear, specifically men's underwear. It's borderline insane how much it costs to buy drawers now a days.
So when I saw this article I was astounded. $13,000 for UNDERWEAR ????? On one trip? So many fucking questions. So many. One let's talk about how weird it is that a coworker is shopping for underwear A- in front of you and 2- for you/with you. I barely tell my wife I'm going to shop for underwear, you think any normal person on the planet is telling their coworker they need underwear / has any interest in going to buy underwear FOR them? I know we got a lot of wackjobs at this place, but if Jersey Jerry ever said "hey man you need a new 6 pack of drawers" while we had time to kill on a Nascar trip, I would have him committed. Shopping for underwear for your coworker, my God I can't believe these people exist. How is this possible?
Now let's talk about the cost. 13 FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS! 13 FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS! My God. Even if each pair cost $100 a pair, that's 130 pairs! 130 Pairs !! What the fuck are you doing with 130 pairs of lingerie? I guess this woman is like me and wants 365 pairs of underwear, and is starting her collection.
Just an absolutely insane story as you can get. $13,000 !!! I'm in fucking awe at this point. Literal awe. Final thought, why did it take so long for this to come out? If someone I worked with asked me to go buy underwear with them I would have called the cops or HR before they finished the sentence. She waited all this time? She might be as crazy as the boss. Absolute lunatics.
