'It's The Best Job That Anybody Has Done In America' - Bill Self Fully Understands Kelvin Sampson Turned Houston Into The Dominant Big 12 Program

Kelvin Sampson is somehow still one of the most underrated coaches not just in college basketball but in all of sports. I don't know if it's the fact he's at Houston, he got hit with sanctions at Indiana because he sent a few extra text messages or as simple as he hasn't won a title, but he people don't mention his name fast enough. All he's done is take a once-dead Houston program to a Final Four, moved to the Big 12 and won back-to-back titles with ease and continue to be one of the top teams in the country.

That was the case again last night. Bill Self finally admitted defeat in the conference. It's no longer the conference Kansas dominates. It's no longer Bill Self's league. It's Kelvin Sampson's league. They have one loss so far in the Big 12. It was in overtime by 1. Absurd. They should be talked about in the same breath as Auburn and Duke. They are locked into that 3rd 1 seed and this is a different Houston team than we're used to seeing. Yeah, they are still monsters on defense. They beat the everliving shit out of teams. But this team can shoot. Emmanuel Sharp, LJ Cryer and Milos Uzan give them a different look than what they had before.

Hell, this video sums up Houston perfectly

J'Wan Roberts, a guy who has been there for 6-years because of redshirts and COVID year, is a staple of Houston basketball. A guy who just goes out there, does every single small thing right and is a reason why they are a top-3 team in the country. It obviously comes down to March, that's where Houston has had bad luck. They got Jordan Poole'd:

They got Tyler Herro'd

Jamal Shead got hurt last year and played just 13 minutes against Duke. But, for now, the Big 12 is Kelvin Sampson's league.
