Is Today The Greatest Overall Day Of Football We've Ever Had?

What a fucking marathon of a day. We've got SMU v. Penn State -9 (54), AND South Dakota St. v. North Dakota State +3.5 (49) in the first of 2 FCS Semi-final matchups today kicking off in half an hour, and then nonstop football for 12 hours.

Two solid NFL matchups thrown in, with Houston at Kansas City -3.5 (42.5), at 1pm Eastern, and the Steelers at the Ravens -6.5 (45) at 4:30pm.

Sandwiching that are college football playoff matchups between Clemson at Texas -12 (51.5) at 4pm and Tennessee at Ohio State -.7.5 (46.5) at 8pm.

(And don't forget, Dave and the crew will be in Columbus for the College Football Show tonight so tune in. Should be fireworks with him helping to plug the holes in the Buckeye's leaking ship)

I sat in the for stream on Thursday night in the gambling cave- by the way, for all the bad hires Dave has had over the years, shout out Rappaport, I think Jon Gruden more than makes up for all of them. Just an unreal addition to the team. Could seriously sit there for hours and listen to him just tell stories. Nicest guy ever too. Can't wait to crack some corona lite's with him at a Hooters some time and get him going about Goodell. - Anyway, during the stream we were discussing Saturday (today), and Dan asked Gruden if he liked the idea of the NFL "infringing" on college football's big day. Neither of them loved it, but they didn't hate it either. Actually, Gruden kind of did. He jokingly said, "Sure, why not play on Saturday too? Play on Tuesdays and Wednesdays too while you're at it."

Well I fucking love it.

Sure, Saturday is college's day. But this isn't some new thing for the NFL.

Everybody knows I take every opportunity I can get to kill Goodell and the league for being greedy, slimy, weasels who falsley espouse how much player safety is important to them. Then simultaneously add on an extra game to the schedule and can't do the right thing and schedule teams coming off bye's for Thursday night matchups if they insist on playing these Thursday night games. A fucking no-brainer.

But these cold couple of weeks leading up to Christmas have always been devoid of meaningful college football games because the kids are all on break. It used to feel like we went a month without college games and then got 100 meaningless bowl games dumped on us after Christmas.

The NFL somewhat helped fill that void by tossing us a couple bones on Saturdays during these weeks.

So as much as I'd love to crucify Goodell and the owners here, I can't. Plus, I think going double screen college/NFL today back to back is going to be awesome.

I think today is going to be glorious. A watershed moment that we will look back on and ask ourselves, "how did we ever survive before this?"

Hears hoping today lives up to the hype! Lets have a fuckin day.

p.s. - shout out to Nick Trig who I posted that tweet of. He's another one of the unsung heroes around this place. One of the most talented people you'll ever meet. He does all the graphics for half the shows and brands at Barstool- including all the Pardon My Take stuff which everyone will agree is fucking awesome. He's a wizard of an artist and the nicest dude ever, and he's thanklessly helped out bar owners like myself by pumping out these football programming graphics every week for like 5 years that come in super handy. Highly encourage you to follow his twitter if you or your staff can use them.
