About Damn Time: We're Finally Getting A Report That For The First Time Since 2009, A College Basketball Video Game Could Be On The Way

We know about the success of College Football 25. Everyone waited years for it, the release date was a holiday and it's still smashing records. But lost in all of that is the other major sport. The fact we still don't have a college basketball game has been insane, there are dozens of us waiting for it! Hell, I'll argue that Fox Sports College Hoops '99 for N64 is a top-5 video game for me. Spent far too much time playing that game and it holds a special place in my heart.

But we're now a year removed of all the College Football video game talk and still have us wondering when are we getting college basketball? It appears to be coming. I don't care how we have to make this happen, it needs to happen. Give every player their money, strike the license deal and get it it on our shelves right after March. Louisville fans need a way to finally see a win over Kentucky, even if it's fake. People will be lining up (sitting on a couch, waiting for a download) for hours for this game.

Think about how long it's been. The last college basketball game made had Blake Griffin on the cover. Blake Griffin has already retired from the NBA and has won Blake of the Year. We're in desperate need for a new video game and there's no reason not to have one. Give us a chance to turn Chicago State into a consistent winner. Give us the ability to drop NIL and offer scholarships in handshake lines.
