Chris Russo Wants It Known He Hates The NFL Putting Christmas Games On Netflix

Mediaite - Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on Monday expressed a multitude of issues he had with the NFL Christmas Day games streaming exclusively on Netflix.

The league will play a pair of games on the holiday. At 1 p.m., the Kansas City Chiefs will go to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers; and the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens at 4:30 p.m. It will Netflix’s first major sports event since the much-maligned boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson in November.

Mad Dog is the G.O.A.T. He really is. Just an electric factory of soundbites and clips. For those of you not in the know, he was a cornerstone of sports talk radio with Mike Francesa back in the day on WFAN and has had a second life with a career on Sirius and then ESPN. Every time he's on the tv a clip with surface. Between his awful name pronunciations and crazy rants he's just the best.

Here's his highlight reels if you havent seen them and they make me laugh every time.

Now it's also a reminder this man hates Christmas.

 All timer.

Anyway, while I enjoy a game on Christmas I do get Chris's point that as the oblos grow in life it can become very difficult to sit and watch a game spank in the middle of the day, especially Christmas, and especially if you have company over. Between answering the door, taking their coats, getting them a drink, helping your wife, saying hello, having a conversation etc, one can get lost from the game and miss almost all of it entirely. So this is not a question of if Russo loves ball or not, it's a matter of trying to watch a game in the middle of Christmas which let's be honest is very difficult. I love the NFL too, but they should just do us all a favor and make the game at night so we can watch it a little easier.

Bonus … the "some dope in Pakistan" line is so vintage Russo it's just remarkable.
