Rivalry Never Stops: Cincinnati Made A Tennessee Middle School Stop Using Bearcats As A Nickname, Xavier Fans Help Them Rebrand As The Musketeers

So last month a middle school in Tennessee was sued by Cincinnati for copyright infringement using the Bearcats name and logo. Stuff like that happens all the time (see, t-shirts). But there is something hilarious to think about a middle school in Tennessee getting sued over something like this. Either way, it set up a perfect rivalry situation. It all started when this happened: 

Xavier grad who runs a marketing company comes up with the idea to name them the Musketeers. More importantly he gets Xavier on board. Smart. Strike while people will praise you for helping out a middle school. Fast forward to today, and, well: 

A perfect start to Shootout Week. This is a real rivalry, in fact I say it all the time. It's the rivalry with the most hate in college basketball. Kentucky/Louisville and UNC/Duke are obviously the bigger and better rivalries, but there's a special kind of hate between Xavier and UC. Quick break for a fight video: 

This city is awesome during Shootout Week. Obviously I'm not tied to any school, I get to watch it all unfold at a close distance. UC fans are already on alert this week. Xavier has owned them the last few years and it's back to the same arguing point. Xavier saying that, UC bringing up their Final Four in 1992 and titles in the early 60s. Rinse, repeat, scream at each other. 

All I know is this is genius. This is how you troll your biggest rival to start the week of the game. Take your shots when you can, no matter what it is. It's exactly what teams should do in this situation and handled perfectly. It just took a middle school in Tennessee to kick this week off.
