Timothée Chalamet Shocks The World With His Ball Knowledge

A lot of people made their jokes when it was announced that Timothée Chalamet would be the guest picker on College Gameday at the SEC Championship in Atlanta this weekend. A lot of people made assumptions about his ball knowledge. That a French-American actor born and raised in New York City with a petite figure and an accent in his first name (not the black kind) wouldn't know ball.

However, at bare minimum, Timothée Chalamet is a halfway self-aware person. He knew what the reaction would be when he name was announced. He knows his reputation. He saw the comments online.

And I'm sorry Big T. I know how much it probably pained you to listen to actor with a French name attempt to talk ball.

But even if he has never watched a sport before in his life, he is still one of the best actors in the world. And whether he knows ball or not, he's going to put in the 30 minutes of prep work so that when he's on stage in SEC country he's going to sound better than 99% of people in the world who spend entire weekends on the couch consuming football until their eyes bleed.

Sorry Blutman I love you. From one bad eyes guy to another your eyes have been looking much better lately. And you know much more ball than Timothée. But whether Timothée knows ball or not, he sure as hell sounded the part today.

Honestly anybody who thought anything different would happen was kidding themselves. Of course the actor is going to prepare. Or what the hell do I know. Maybe Timée legitimately knows balll. Maybe he just doesn't advertise it because that's not his "brand". We don't shit about what he does in his free time.

Either way, well played Timothée. You took your responsibility seriously and made for a good segment. That's honestly better than a majority of guest pickers who College Gameday brings in. Better than some people on your own panel even (not talking about Corso).

And if this Ohio/Miami result holds then that's pretty funny…
