This May Have Been The Best Two Weeks Of College Basketball.....Ever?
LET ME START WITH A QUALIFIER: I'm talking about the regular season. The first weekend of March Madness is, always has been, and always will be the King of the Sport. With that being said, Feast Week alone gave us the following losses from last week's AP Top 25:
No. 2 UConn (x3), No. 3 Gonzaga, No. 5 Iowa State, No. 6 Houston (x2), No. 9 Alabama, No. 11 Duke, No. 12 North Carolina (x2), No. 14 Indiana (x2), No. 19 Arkansas, No. 20 Texas A&M, No. 21 Creighton (x2), No. 22 Xavier, No. 23 Ole Miss, No. 24 Arizona (x2) and No. 25 Mississippi State.
....and then the new rankings came out and between Tuesday and Wednesday alone, we had losses from #1 Kansas, #2 Auburn, #4 Kentucky, #5 Marquette, #11 Wisconsin, #14 Cincinnati, #15 Baylor, #18 Pitt, and #20 North Carolina.
Bottom line, this year is completely unpredictable and an absolute blast to watch. At this moment, I think Titus and I are on the same page that we'd take Duke to win it all in March. But there's also about 12 teams from the SEC that will be in the tournament, and about 5 of them are in their locker rooms right now thinking they have a chance to cut the nets down at the end. Not to mention 3 more from the Big 12. I've never seen so many upsets, so much parity, and honestly, so much recognizable names and star power (since the days where you had to stay multiple years) in the game.
