Dan Hurley Simply Won't Stop Attacking The Refs - Doesn't Think His Technical Cost UConn The Game, He Thinks It Was 'The Shitty Calls'

And for more context from Norlander:

If you somehow missed the first game at Maui, here you go:

The story of the game was Dan Hurley getting a technical with 40 seconds to go in OT, tie game, Memphis going to the line already on a bad foul call. You think he cares? Oh no, in fact he'll argue that it wasn't his fault. It was the shitty calls. Look, you'll never find me defending a ref, so I love this from Hurley. Let your guys know you will fight any ref that steps foot in front of them. Plus, it's making a statement. Hurley is far from the first coach to do this and won't be the last. But now he's going to have a target on him in Maui. These refs are a boys club. They try to defend each other and I wouldn't be surprised to see Hurley get another cheap technical or two.

But it's not just the technical. Look at him break it down. It was a technical on a trainer in the first half. That's pathetic. If you're a ref you can't give a T that early to someone who isn't a coach for simply saying something. You gotta go over the top. But the bigger thing here? How he directly calls out whichever ref he never saw before. He was caught on camera saying 'you don't belong here' and now we know why he was saying that.

The man is cultured, gotta hand it to him there. He knew Oppenheimer, another win for Jeff D. Lowe. He knew he was putting on a show and now we have two days to see him react from this. I'm curious if he goes even more over the top or if he becomes subdued to prove a point. Just know it wasn't his technical that cost UConn the game. It wasn't Memphis shooting lights out. It wasn't UConn's awful defense (especially from the guards). It wasn't Samson Johnson being a foul machine. It was the shitty calls.
