Auburn Takes Down Texas A&M in a 4OT Thriller to Complete Chaos Saturday

We could not have asked for a better finish to Chaos Saturday than what Auburn was able to deliver on the Plains. The Tigers came into their game with Texas A&M with just one conference win under their belt so far this season and finished the day with a third Top 15 SEC team with College Football Playoff hopes falling on the road.

Going on the road in the SEC, particularly at night, sucks. Big Ten stans and SEC haters will use Saturday's results as evidence the SEC sucks when in actuality, it's proof of how difficult the league is from top to bottom. Any Saturday night in any given stadium in the SEC can be a massive landmine if you don't come ready to play.

Auburn tried its hardest to blow a 21-0 lead to the Aggies, but Hugh Freeze and Co. found a way to get a field goal in the final seconds of regulation and then got it done in four overtimes — though only two were legitimate overtimes before we went to the dumbest way to decide games in sports. While this doesn't erase all of the bad Freeze has done during his time at Auburn, the Tigers have been in pretty much every game this year and finally got the breaks to go their way at the end. They were never going to be competing for a Playoff spot or anything, but Auburn could definitely be 7-4 right now with three ranked wins if just a couple plays go differently.

What a night in the Southeastern Conference. This sport is the best.
