It's So Damn Good To Be Us: Lipscomb's Coach Claims Kentucky Has The Best Major Offense He's Seen In 6 Years, Mark Pope Is A Genius

I want to apologize for feeling this way, but I simply can't. We've waited 5 long years for this. We've waited 5 long years to see an offense run this way. We've waited 5 long years to feel like we're playing basketball in modern times. Now we have other coaches talking about how Mark Pope is a genius, this is the best offense he's played against and how Kentucky fans should be excited. So you know what? Yeah, I'm fucking excited.

This is what Kentucky fans needed to hear. Everyone was skeptical to a degree when Pope first got hired. We heard all the bad news - Hurley, Drew, etc all passing on the job. Then comes in a former hero, a former captain, Mark Pope. It took about 3 hours for him to win everyone over. Since then he's done everything right. He's got the big win early on. He didn't have a letdown. He's beating the shit out of every bad team, the stuff a good team should do. I've sat and taken shit for years because of this team. Oakland, St. Peter's, UNC-Wilmington, Evansville, South Carolina, Richmond, Vandy, all those terrible losses we sat through. We finally feel out of it.

Here's the thing, he's not lying. Mark Pope is an offensive genius. He knows what he wants to do and I can listen to that man talk forever:

I don't care if it's Lipscomb's coach, any coach in America. You start singing praises about Mark Pope and you know what you're talking about. Launch threes, run the Koby Brea doesn't miss play, let Amari Williams do his thing. It's gorgeous.
