Ohio State’s Starting Center and Best Offensive Lineman, Seth McLaughlin, Tore His Achilles And Is Out For The Year
Well this is just the worst fucking news I've ever heard. No, I'm not talking about how On3 and College Football Report and everyone are crediting the Columbus Dispatch for the report when I confirmed the news over an hour before....
....but this blog is not about me. It's about how the Buckeyes can't buy a fucking break when it comes to injuries. We're already without our star Left Tackle in Josh Simmons, and now we're down our star Center in Seth McLaughlin. I'd argue those two were probably our most "can't get injured" players in the entire program. Judkins goes down? We've got Trey. Will Howard goes down? We've got Sayin. Jeremiah goes down? We've got Emeka and Carnell. But I would say our line was already decimated before this news....and now we're in deep shit. We've already restructured everything once, and now we're about to see a whole new unit out there on Saturday. I'm guessing Carson Hinzman goes back to Center since he has the experience there? Or do we roll with the redshirt freshman Josh Padilla and try and limit the rest of the moving parts on the line? Whatever we decide, I'm officially nervous. Games are won in the trenches and our offensive line is officially our weak spot.
***To be clear, I'm talking about for the College Football Playoff. My concern level is still 0 for both Indiana and Michigan combined. But I don't know how we go play Oregon in the Big 10 Title or Georgia/Bama in the CFB with a line that's down our top guys. And what sucks most is this appears to be a continuous trend for Ohio State. I'm sure people are going to point out that everyone has to deal with injuries, and that's true, but so is this:
Couldn't even use the embed tweet function because the list was so long. Something in the water in Columbus? Or is it the fucking turf? Either way….I'm trying to stay optimistic but I'm very nervous. I guess we did win the National Championship with our 3rd string QB a few years back? I haven't heard a Bell yet…
