Baker Mayfield Puts On The Superhero Cape And Nearly Delivers The Buccaneers A Late Win
The undermanned Buccaneers were home underdogs today to the defending NFC Champion 49ers. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were out again and the team was struggling on offense. But down by three late late in the game, Baker Mayfield put on his cape on 4th down and extended the drive with an INSANE play, fending off former Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa for a sack and hitting RB Rachaad White for a first down.
Tampa Bay did end up tying the game before Brock Purdy marched the 49ers down for a last second field goal.
It was a bad week for my squad. The Bucs unfortunately lost All-Pro Tristan Wirfs to what looks like a serious knee injury as they head into their bye week. They will need the rest to heal and Mike Evans may be returning after the bye. At 4-6, the Bucs will need to have a furious finish to end the year to make the playoffs. The schedule is very favorable:
BYE
at NY Giants
at Carolina
vs. Las Vegas
at LA Chargers
at Dallas
vs. Carolina
vs. Saints
Can they finish 6-1 to make the playoffs? It'll be tough, but don't underestimate this team when healthy!
