Khamzat Chimaev Just Crushed The Jaw of Robert Whittaker With A Scary Face Crank

Khamzat Chimaev may just be as good as he says he is. He just became the first man to submit Robert Whittaker in the UFC and he made it look incredibly easy. Chimaev took Whittaker down seconds after the fight began, dragged him to the canvas for a while, and eventually sunk in a face crank that made Whittaker tap INSTANTLY. After the fight, Whittaker was pointing to his jaw, and speculation was that he either broke or dislocated it with that choke.

I won't lie, I doubted him after all of his cancelled fights/pull outs and thought his gas tank was suspect after that Kamaru Usman fight - but fuck. Nobody does that to Robert Whittaker. Khamzat might be the actual real deal. I mean, there's a chance he broke the guy's jaw with a squeeze. You know how hard you gotta squeeze a man's face to break or dislocate their JAW?! Especially when that man is Robert Whittaker?!

Immediately, there's now talk of whether or not Chimaev deserves to skip Sean Strickland in line for a title shot after that performance. Strickland was promised the next championship opportunity, but there's plenty of examples of that not mattering much after a finish like that one - and I honestly wouldn't mind it! Strickland may storm UFC HQ if he gets jumped in line, but seeing Khamzat dismantle a legend like Whittaker like he was a tomato can was so shocking it might've shaken things up.
