Not To Overreact 2 Games Into The Season, But How Many Straight Titles Are The Celtics About To Win?
So I know the graphic shows that Tony Bennett retiring is the main topic of the newest episode of the Mark Titus Show, but that also happened a week ago. That's what happens when such huge news breaks immediately after a once a week show. But no worries, we are going to twice a week here soon once College Basketball officially tips off (pending a move to New York, I guess). Anyways, the main topics of today's show included that the NBA has kicked into gear, and this wild Eastern Conference we were all excited for with the likes of the superteam Knicks, and the superteam 76ers, and the new coach Cavs, and Giannis back on the Bucks, and the scrappy Pacers, Magic, etc........now looks like it's going to be boring and a race for 2nd because the Celtics look so fucking good. They picked up right where they left off in last year's finals in this year's opening night, putting in an NBA record 29 threes.
And they had 9 minutes to break the record but they just kept fucking around. Mind you, this was against the team that is supposed to be the biggest threat to their throne. Don't get me wrong, the NBA outlook is going to change on a night to night basis if we overreact to every single game. But through the evidence of one game.....and then their second last night....
….it legitimately looks like they are simply too well coached, too spaced out, too good of shooters, and too unselfish to be able to be beaten 4x out of 7. I hope I'm wrong for the sake of the league's intrigue, but Mark and I were about ready to crown them 2025 NBA Champions on the show last night.
Other topics discussed on the newest episode of the Mark Titus Show:
- Tony Bennett has retired from coaching. Titus bids him farewell.
- LeBron and Bronny shared the most beautiful moment in sports history.
- The 76ers appear to be holding Joel Embiid out so he will be ready for the playoffs, which is a dangerous move.
- Zach Edey played in 138 college basketball games and he only fouled out once. He fouled out of his very first ever NBA game. Mark is super sad!
- Indiana let another 5-star player leave the state….this time going to UConn.
- Secret Scrimmage updates from Kentucky, Duke, and St. Johns/Rutgers.
