Underselling The Hype: Reed Sheppard Is Being Called 'The Closest Thing To Steph Curry We've Seen In A Long Time'
I'm not saying Reed Sheppard is the next Steph Curry, others are. Tough to argue with. I mean the guy shoots lights out. He was the best shooter in college basketball last season, no matter how much John Calipari tried to ruin it with dumbass lineup decisions. It's part of the reason as to why John Calipari is coaching in Arkansas right now. This isn't a John Calipari blog though, this is Reed Sheppard basically being the greatest shooter the world has ever seen.
Frankly, I love seeing this. Dude hasn't played 1 single second of real NBA basketball yet. He played 1 season of college basketball where he was supposed to be a multi-year player. Gotta compare him to arguably the most influential player the NBA has seen in decades if not longer. That's not even a stretch to say, there's a reason kids love to shoot threes these days. That man is Steph Curry. He changed the way the game is played, he's the best shooter we've ever seen, he's an MVP, champion, all of that. Reed Sheppard is basically that. It's all about making bold claims, no one wants to say he'll be a good pro, probably make a bunch of shots and be impactful. What's the fun there?
Can't wait to see Reed Sheppard wear the red, white and blue in 2028. Team USA is going to need a perfect shooter and might as well go with the guy who is the closest to Steph Curry we've seen. No way this turns into a Harold Miner situation. Underselling the hype by not just calling him Steph Curry.
