We Sat Down With One Of The Hottest Names In Country Music, Riley Green, And Talked Alabama Football, Hitting Bombs, And The Country Music Landscape

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Alabama, Green's passion for music began early, though his path to country music stardom wasn't always a straight line.  A former quarterback for Jacksonville State University, Green even appeared on the CMT reality show "Redneck Island" before fully pursuing his musical aspirations.

His athletic background speaks to his lifelong love of sports, particularly football and baseball, passions that often find their way into his music and persona.

He has been touring this past year and tapping in for batting practice at pretty much every major league ballpark in the country, hitting dong shots.

(Sidebar - I didn't bring this up in our conversation, because I'm not gay, but sitting across from this guy was emasculating as it gets. Talk about a fucking stud. Chiseled jaw line, rock hard physique, and he can throw a football, and take 90 mph fastballs deep, AND he can sing. Tough life huh?)

Green's musical journey began with a self-titled EP in 2013, followed by a string of successful EPs that led to him signing with Big Machine Label Group in 2018.  His debut album, "Different 'Round Here", released in 2019,  garnered significant attention and included the hit song "There Was This Girl".

He followed that success with his second album, "Ain't My Last Rodeo", in 2023, and an EP titled "Way Out Here" in 2024.

Green has enjoyed consistent chart success with songs like "I Wish Grandpas Never Died"

and "Half of Me", a collaboration with Thomas Rhett.

His honest songwriting, often centered on themes of small-town life, love, and family, has earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.  In 2023, Green toured with major country stars Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs, further solidifying his place in the country music landscape.

With his latest single, "Rather Be",

released in July 2024, and his upcoming studio album, Don't Mind If I Do, set to drop on October 18th, 2024, Riley Green continues to build on his success and is definitely an artist to watch.

P.s. - his duet with Ella Langley "you look like you love me" is absolutely torching the airwaves. great song and Ella is a rocket.

p.p.s. - If you're in Chicago you can catch Riley at Joe's On Weed St. next week, Oct 16th -
