"Speak No Evil" Is A Fun Ride That Lives Up To The Hype

Speak No Evil is a Blumhouse flick. They are into simplicity and fairly cheap thrills typically. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But as far as Speak No Evil, they keep it simple and it comes through perfectly. It's written and directed by James Watkins and stars James McAvoy. 

It's a film about a couple that has recently moved to London for a job that no longer exists. They're going through marital problems and decide to stick it out in London and meet another family on vacation that invites them out to their farm. They decide to give it a shot and make the long drive out to the country. Once they get there, a number of odd things happen that make them want to leave. They then uncover McAvoy's family's secret and it becomes quite the thriller. 

I won't give away much more than that, but the movie is a thriller that's a family trying to escape with their lives and it is quite the ride. I really enjoyed the simplicity of this film and how everything they did really worked. They didn't try to go over the top to make it something it wasn't. They just kept it simple and I'd recommend this film to anyone that's in the mood for a scary thriller.
