Dudes Rock: Entire Colgate Lacrosse Team Shows Up To Fire Up The Golf Team During Their Tournament

This is what it's all about right here. The fellas. The boys. Just a bunch of guys supporting a bunch of dudes.

I mean, sure, Colgate might not have a crazy football scene like some bigger schools do. It's not like the boys are at a B1G or SEC school. But they're still going to treat Saturdays in the fall with as much intensity as possible. When you're a spring sport athlete, you have to take full advantage of that fall semester. While some of their friends from home might be tailgating on Saturday morning for a massive top 20 matchup with College GameDay in town, these fellas are firing it up to head over to the local track and give the golf team the greatest home course advantage in the Patriot League.

On one hand this is great because this is one of the things that make college athletics unlike anything else out there. Sure, you might get some pro athletes who go check out another game in their city from time to time. We see Joel Embiid showing up to Eagles and Phillies games all the time. But it's not the same as having a whole squad on the 9th green going ballistic for a 5 footer.

And on the other hand--this is genius. Because I'm sure the majority of the lacrosse team likes to get out there and swing the sticks from time to time. Now the golf coach is going to love the lax team, and he's going to let them on the course to play a round whenever they want. You scratch our backs, we scratch yours. That type of thing. Smart to get that relationship going early in semester while you can still take advantage of some premium fall golf in central New York.
