This UFO Footage is Either Proof They Exist or the Greatest Deepfake Ever Created

I've mentioned here before about how Brazil has long been regarded as a hotbed of UFO activity. The most famous incident being the Varghina (I'll pause a second here while you stop giggling and get a hold of yourself) incident from the mid-1990s, when several people experienced a close encounter with an entity that they described as "weak and feeble" and "screeching" to be helped. And which resulted in a perfectly healthy military police officer getting sick and dying:

Government officials blamed eyewitnesses, claiming what they actually encountered was a homeless guy, before brooming the entire case and closing the books. 

Well here's something they won't be able to cover up. Because it's captured on video for the world to see:

Coast to Coast AM - A rather fantastic piece of footage from Brazil provides a remarkably clear look at a flying saucer spotted hovering in the sky. The curious scene is said to have been filmed this past Sunday in the city of Curitiba. Sharing their video online, the bewildered witness mused that "I never believed in UFOs" until seeing the strange saucer-shaped object. Initially suspecting that the aerial anomaly could be a drone, they indicated that the apparent lack of any propellers caused them to dismiss that theory. Similarly, the witness observed that the object seemed to move in a straight line, which made them doubtful that the flying saucer was a balloon. 

They also noted that the UFO appeared to sport some sort of landing gear, though that detail is hard to discern from the video despite its strikingly clear view of the curious craft. While the witness may have dispelled with the notion that the flying saucer was a drone or balloon, skeptical viewers will undoubtedly point to those two prosaic possibilities as an explanation for the anomalous object.

Look at that and try to convince me what we're seeing is a drone, a balloon, a bird, a plane or Superman. Or a fake. Unless this guy hanging out in Curitiba, Brazil is working with a Marvel-sized special effects budget. More, actually. Disney spent $200 million on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and produced this hot mess:

This Brazilian produced this image with a hand held camera. Which tells me it's just what was hovering in the skies over Curitiba.

A few weeks ago I mentioned I'm intrigued by the Carl Jung hypothesis that what humans around the world are witnessing are, in fact, archetypes. Brought on by the challenges, threats, and technology of the times we live in:

And I'm not dismissing it. Even if Jung also said he based a lot of his life's philosophy on an image he had as a 12-year-old of God defecating on the Basel Cathedral in Switzerland. The problem with his archetype explanation being, you can't capture images of mass, worldwide hallucinations. You also can't track them with US Navy weapons systems, no matter how advanced the technology. So we need another explanation for what these things are.

Which is what makes a video like this so invaluable. Among others, Neil DeGrasse Tyson is fond of dismissing the whole issue by asking "If something's up there, where's the video?" And at moments like this, we get to say, "It's right here." And with each new one that gets recorded and posted to social media, the harder it's going to be to keep dismissing these things as weather balloons or homeless guys. So keep your eyes on the sky and your batteries charged. The truth is out there.
