We Need To Recruit More NBA Players To Dominate Volleyball After Watching Chase Budinger Smoke France In His First Olympic Match
So today was Chase Budinger's first Olympic volleyball match. Former Arizona star, NBA player, dunk contestant (LeBron can't say that) was AWESOME. Dude blocks everything at the net, smoked France, the way volleyball should be. But now I need more NBA players in beach volleyball. Basically every year we hear 'what if our best athletes played soccer' forget that. Give me dunk contestants playing beach volleyball. You're telling me we can't teach Mac McClung, Desmond Mason and Jason Richardson how to play volleyball? Forget the fact that Chase Budinger was an elite high school volleyball player, it's timing, jumping and passing. We have plenty of options! Let's see how deep we can get besides regular volleyball players.
It's not like Budinger was some bum either. McDonald's All-American Game MVP with Kevin Durant (ever heard of him). Dude was good at Arizona, had a 7-year NBA career. Again, I fully understand he was elite at volleyball in high school, I just want to see how many random former athletes we can get and still dominate the world in various events. Give me a whole indoor team of former players and see how they develop.
So shout out Chase Budinger, arguably the best 2-sport athlete in America. No one else can say they played in the NBA and participated in Olympic beach volleyball. 1-0, I fully expect a gold medal now. I've seen him play volleyball once and my mind has been made up.
